Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency company that has tapped Hollywood actor Matt Damon to attract new users. The company is looking for ways to expand its user base and increase brand awareness.

As the crypto exchange strives to promote its services among mainstream audiences in the US and worldwide, Hollywood actor Matt Damon will join Crypto.com as a brand ambassador.

The move is part of a larger worldwide marketing drive for Crypto.com, which has more than tenfold increased its user base since 2020 as interest in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin has soared. 

The campaign will cost more than $100 million, with advertisements featuring Damon and directed by cinematographer Wally Pfister airing in over 20 countries.

In an interview, Damon noted, “I’ve never done an endorsement like this.” “We’re hoping this is the start of a fantastic long-term partnership.” Mixed-martial artist Ronda Rousey, basketball player Carmelo Anthony, and snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis have all joined Crypto.com. 

Despite the recommendation, Damon, who is also a Crypto.com investor, said he is a cautious investor who would normally “ride or die with the economy.”

Crypto.com is currently associated with Formula 1, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and the best soccer league in Italy. It has also worked with Paris Saint-Germain of France, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Montreal Canadiens, and Aston Martin Cognizant of Formula One.

This year, cryptocurrency platforms such as Crypto.com, FTX, and Coinbase are investing heavily in marketing as well as forming partnerships with sports leagues and teams. Celebrities such as Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, and Amitabh Bachchan are also getting engaged, although via different endorsements.
